As part of its sustained efforts to advance academic and administrative performance and to ensure compliance with the highest standards of quality and institutional accreditation, the Internal Ranking Unit at the College of Science organized a specialized workshop to elucidate the criteria and requirements of the internal ranking system for colleges at the University of Anbar.

The workshop was delivered by  Dr. Ahmed Shihab Lafi from the Scientific Follow-up Unit at the University Presidency and targeted the relevant committees and stakeholders within the College. It aimed to highlight the approved ranking criteria and indicators and to discuss implementation mechanisms to ensure coordinated efforts and the attainment of advanced standings that reflect the College’s distinguished academic position.

The workshop featured in-depth discussions and a comprehensive presentation of the five core domains underpinning the ranking system, namely:

Educational Environment: Enhancing infrastructure, classrooms, and laboratories to provide an optimal learning setting.
Research Quality and Output: Emphasizing the quality and rigor of faculty publications in international indexed databases and supporting applied research initiatives.
Resource Management: Optimizing and efficiently utilizing available resources to support academic and institutional development.
Data Management and Digital Access: Ensuring regular data updates, dissemination of scientific activities, and facilitating access to digital resources for researchers and students.
Sustainability: Promoting environmental sustainability standards, clean energy practices, and the expansion of green spaces within the campus.

The workshop concluded with an exchange of insights and recommendations between the presenter and participants, with emphasis on the need for coordinated efforts and meticulous documentation of all activities and data. Such measures are essential to achieving the College’s objectives and enhancing its performance indicators within the comprehensive local and international ranking strategy of the University of Anbar.
