     Vision:

 The Physics Department aims to be a leader in excellence in creativity and the dissemination of knowledge in basic sciences and applied technology locally and internationally by providing a scientific environment where students and faculty members collaborate in teaching, learning, and scientific research, and by enhancing the motivation and skills of students at all levels so that they can be effective and influential members of the academic and humanitarian community. academic and humanitarian society.

Mission

The mission of the Department of Physics is to achieve academic excellence and leadership in the physical sciences, as well as openness to science and its frontiers. The Department of Physics dedicates its potential to the community and humanity for continuous education through academic and social programs and the acquisition of renewed knowledge through research activities.

 Aims:

   The Physics Department at the College of Science is one of the main academic departments that contributes to achieving the college's vision and mission. The department aims to provide excellent education in the field of physics, conduct pioneering scientific research, and graduate qualified cadres capable of competing in the job market and contributing to scientific and technical development. The department aims to prepare graduates who are qualified to work in various scientific and practical fields due to the experience they have gained during their years of study in various government departments in the industrial sector, research institutions, health and oil departments, and others. The objectives can be summarized in the following points:

1- Preparing human cadres capable of dealing with academic scientific research methods and their applications.

2- Contributing to meeting the country's needs for specialists in physics and its applications.

3-  Enabling students to reach a level that qualifies them for postgraduate studies in order to pursue research and development in physics.

4- Raising the level of research, modernizing the laboratory system, and keeping it in line with global developments.

5- Transferring and localizing scientific expertise in the Iraqi environment in a way that contributes to the development of national education.

6- Acting as a driving force and pioneer for improving all aspects of education and physics applications.

7- The Physics Department pays special attention to pure and applied studies to qualify students theoretically and practically, enabling them to continue their higher studies on the one hand and to play a distinguished role in research, development, and work in scientific and industrial establishments on the other.
