Vision, mission and aims of the Department of Mathematics

Vision:

The department aspires to be a leader in the field of pure and applied mathematics. Its focus is on developing its capabilities in various fields that serve the scientific process, with the goal of enriching the knowledge society. Its vision also includes developing the human resources it receives to keep pace with modern cognitive developments in our time, through teaching systematic scientific thinking, behavior, and application.

Mission:

The mission of the Department of Mathematics reflects the mission of the university and college. Its mission is to prepare qualified individuals in their field of specialization and provide them with the principles of knowledge, scientific and logical thinking, scientific research skills in mathematics, and the skills necessary for future communication with society in various fields of work, both theoretical and practical. The department also seeks to contribute effectively to the country's advancement to the ranks of advanced nations by graduating competent and distinguished cadres in the fields of pure and applied mathematics, with various undergraduate degrees.

Aims

1. Cultivate the love of mathematics among the students of the department by clarifying its importance and its uses in the various fields of life.

2. To prepare outstanding students as a first step towards completing their higher studies in or outside the country to obtain a certificate

3. Preparing specialized cadres to work in the various state institutions in the fields of modeling, operations research and statistics and computers.

4. Access to a regional and international leadership role in education and scientific research.

5. Activate scientific cooperation between the university and other universities in the field of scientific research.

6. Contributing to the provision of academic consultations and development of services for Anbar province.

7. There is still a need for graduates of the mathematics departments of the faculties of science to work in secondary education.
