About Biology department
The Biology Department was established when the college was founded in 1988 and welcomed its first students in the 1989–1990 academic year. Its first graduates graduated in 1992–1993. The department's graduates have distinguished themselves by their excellence, ranking first in the college, and many of them have been accepted into graduate studies. The master's program was introduced in 1993-1994, while the doctoral program was introduced in 1998-1999. Evening studies were introduced in 2018-2019. The department aims to prepare scientific cadres specialized in life sciences and microbiology who are able to engage in various state ministries in the sectors of education, health, industry, and agriculture. The department has 950 undergraduate students and 64 graduate students. During the four years of study, students study all the basic disciplines of life sciences and some supporting sciences, for a total of 175 credits upon graduation. The languages of instruction in the department are Arabic and English. The department awards bachelor's degrees in life sciences, as well as master's and doctoral degrees.
