We hear a lot about the spread of cancer, which becomes more severe and ferocious as modern technologies advance and their applications enter our daily lives, making these technologies a major cause and risk factor contributing to contracting this deadly disease.
This scientific article aims to acquaint the reader with cancer, its causes, and the most important ways to prevent it by reducing daily habits that increase the chance of contracting this malignant disease.
The term Cancer refers to a group of diseases characterized by abnormal growth and reproduction of cells, leading to the destruction of healthy cells in the body and the formation of a tumor mass that ends in death. Here, cancer cells are able to reproduce and move from one organ to another within the human body.
Cancer arises from a single cell through the transformation of a normal cell into a cancerous cell that goes through several stages in which the normal cell transforms into a malignant cell capable of attacking neighboring cells and spreading the disease widely in a process called metastasis.
The incidence of cancer increases with age due to the accumulation of genetic mutations and the decrease in the effectiveness of cellular repair mechanisms as a person gets older. Alcohol consumption, smoking, and infection with various viruses are among the most important causes of cancer. Uterine cancer resulting from infection with the human papillomavirus is one of the most common types of cancer in the world.
In short, the known causes of cancer can be summarized to include tobacco consumption and its derivatives, alcohol consumption, viral infections, environmental pollution, and sexually transmitted infections with viruses. The most important risk factors for cancer are advanced age, especially over the age of 55 years. Genetic factors also play a role in cancer incidence by 5-10%, in addition to health conditions such as chronic diseases such as chronic colitis. Behaviors and lifestyle also affect the increase in risk factors for the disease.
Perhaps someone might ask how can I protect myself from the risk of contracting cancer? The answer is by following healthy and correct methods and means that I practice daily that work to reduce the incidence of cancer. The most prominent of these methods are the following:
• Reducing the amount of food and increasing fasting and intermittent fasting. This helps remove foreign and harmful cells.
• Reducing sugars, processed meats, and soft drinks, which can stimulate the body to form cancer cells, because cancer cells feed primarily on sugars.
• Eating fruits and vegetables regularly and avoid eating fast food and foods cooked outside the home.
• Drinking sufficient amounts of water continuously in order to remove toxic compounds resulting from metabolic processes.
• Reducing the use of mobile phones, microwaves, and electronic games, as they contain electromagnetic frequencies that lead to mutations and the emergence of cancer cells.
• Do not use frying oil more than once, and avoid using cellulose paper to dry food or using tin utensils for cooking.
• Exercise, even if it is walking daily for at least half an hour, and sleep at night for at least six hours to rest and not stay up for long periods.
• Never drink hot drinks from plastic cups, stop drinking cappuccino and Nescafe, and drink coffee instead, and be sure to take garlic tablets daily because they contain antioxidants.
• Avoid eating heavy, fatty meals at night and stop eating instant noodles, sausage, burgers, luncheon meat, and other processed meats.
Finally... I wish you health and wellness and that Almighty Allah protects you from cancer and all kinds of diseases and that we repeat daily the words of the greatest Prophet, our Master Mohammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace: “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from leprosy, madness, and all kinds of diseases.”
