Scientific Workshop on “Proper Nutrition and Blood Sugar”

As part of its continuous efforts to promote health awareness and nutritional education, and through an initiative that reflects the integration of its institutional units, the Human Rights Unit at the College of Science, in cooperation with the University Psychological Counseling Unit and the Continuing Education Center, organized an important scientific and awareness workshop entitled “The Relationship Between Proper Nutrition, Blood Sugar, and Fasting." The workshop was held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Jabir ibn Hayyan Hall.

The workshop sessions were presented by a distinguished group of academics and specialists from various scientific departments within the college, including:

* Assist Prof. Dr. Mustafa Riyadh Mohammed – Department of Biotechnology
* Dr. Omar Imad Ammar – Department of Biotechnology
* Assist Lect. Hanan Hamid Mohammed – Department of Biology
* Assist. Lect. Hanan Khamis Khalaf – Department of Chemistry

The workshop aimed to raise students’ awareness about the importance of healthy nutrition and its vital role in regulating blood glucose levels during the long hours of fasting. It also provided a range of health guidelines and medical advice to help maintain nutritional balance and avoid unhealthy habits that may lead to complications such as sudden hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia.
