Scientific Seminar on "Regulating Blood Sugar Levels"

In its commitment to promoting health awareness and educating the university community, the Deanship of the College of Science organized an important scientific and awareness seminar entitled **“Regulating Blood Sugar Levels During the Fasting Period.”** The event was held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Jabir ibn Hayyan Hall and was organized by the University Psychological Counseling Unit.

The seminar lectures were delivered by a group of academics and specialists, including Assist. Prof. Dr. Maryam Ibrahim Salman, Assist. Prof. Dr. Meena Sabah Farman and Researcher Ihsan Mohammed Salman. The seminar was moderated by Assist. Prof. Dr. Wijdan Ahmed Ali, head of the unit.

The seminar aimed to provide comprehensive medical and health guidance on how to manage blood glucose levels during long fasting hours and how to avoid serious health complications such as severe hypoglycemia or sudden hyperglycemia.

The speakers emphasized the significant benefits of following a balanced diet during the iftar and suhoor meals and explained the proper methods for scheduling medication intake in a way that aligns with fasting hours. The seminar also addressed common misconceptions related to Ramadan nutrition, ensuring safe fasting practices that positively influence physical health and daily activity.
