In order to enhance the partnership between Anbar University and government institutions, students from the Mathematics Department at the College of Science visited the Anbar Statistics Directorate, accompanied by a group of professors and lecturers in the department. This visit came as part of a series of scientific activities organized by the college with the aim of linking the theoretical aspect with practical applications, and expanding students' awareness in various branches of mathematics.
During the visit, students were briefed on the workflow in the directorate, and learned about the most important statistics that are collected and analyzed, and how to use them in making decisions and setting development plans. They also listened to a detailed explanation by officials in the directorate about the importance of statistics in various fields, and its role in serving the community.
The students showed great interaction with this visit, as they asked many questions and inquiries, and expressed their great benefit from this experience.
For their part, the accompanying lecturers stressed the importance of this visit in refining students' skills, and expanding their cognitive horizons, noting that the college always seeks to provide opportunities for students to interact with the community, and learn about the practical applications of mathematics.
For his part, the Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Esmat Ramzy Abdel Ghafour, stressed that this visit comes within the framework of the college’s keenness to prepare qualified graduates capable of meeting the needs of the labor market and contributing to serving the community.
