As part of its efforts to prepare its students and graduates for the job market and provide them with practical skills, the College of Science at the University of Anbar held a workshop entitled "Developing Specialized Skills in Biology: From the Laboratory to the Job Market." This workshop was held in fruitful cooperation with the Qualification and Employment Unit at the University Presidency, with the aim of bridging the gap between academic outcomes and the actual needs of various sectors.
The workshop was held today, Monday, June 2, 2025, in the Jabir ibn Hayyan Hall of the College of Science, and was attended by interested parties.
The workshop lecture was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Walid Khaled from the College of Dentistry, who focused on the importance of developing practical and applied skills for biology students, emphasizing the need to acquire experiences that go beyond purely theoretical aspects and qualify them to compete effectively in the changing job market. The lecturer provided practical examples of how to employ academic knowledge in various professional fields and how to build a CV and portfolio that reflect practical competence. Assistant Professor Dr. Najib Mohammed Hussein moderated the workshop, effectively leading discussions and providing participants with the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the lecturer.
