The study aims to detect the thickness of clay layers, calculate clay reserves (if possible), and evaluate the effectiveness of using the electrical resistivity imaging method in identifying clay layers at the selected site.
The results revealed the validity and strength of the two-dimensional electrical resistivity imaging technique to detect the contact between the Injana and Fatha formations and the clay deposit areas in the studied area despite the convergence in resistivity variation.
Based on the results of this study, it is recommended to focus on the area where the clay deposits are exposed as quarries for these deposits because they are suitable for ceramic industries and to expand the survey area to explore the electrical resistance to study and determine more locations of clay deposits and to rely on this technology to connect between the Fatha and Injana formations inside and outside Anbar Governorate.
