Council of the College of Science Holds Its Fourth Session (Part Two) and Discusses Several Matters

The Council of the College of Science held its fourth open session (Part Two) for the current academic year, chaired by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Ismat Ramzi Abdul Ghafour, in the presence of the Assist. Deans, Heads of Scientific Departments, and all Council members.

The Dean opened the session by welcoming the attendees and commending the efforts exerted in managing the scientific departments and monitoring the progress of the educational process. The agenda included an in-depth discussion of several important academic and administrative matters, foremost among them reviewing the scientific promotion files of a number of faculty members and completing the related procedures in accordance with the applicable ministerial regulations and instructions.

The Council also addressed issues related to undergraduate and postgraduate students, discussing matters concerning their academic and research progress, and emphasizing the need to overcome obstacles and provide an optimal academic environment that ensures their academic excellence.

In line with the College’s vision to strengthen its engagement with the broader community, the members discussed community service studies, stressing the importance of directing scientific outputs and research toward practical solutions that serve the local community.

To ensure the professional organization of scientific activities, the Council approved a comprehensive regulatory mechanism for organizing workshops and seminars, guaranteeing their academic rigor and balanced distribution to maximize benefits for students and researchers.

At the conclusion of the session, the Dean emphasized the importance of maintaining high-level coordination across all units of the College to enhance academic and institutional performance, wishing continued success to all.
