From Laboratories and Classrooms to Championship Wins: College of Science Secures Victory and is Crowned Champion of Anbar University Football Championship
The College of Science achieved a new sporting milestone by winning first place and claiming the University of Anbar President’s Foot Tennis Championship Cup, following an impressive run marked by consistent victories and high-level performance.
The team began its campaign with a valuable win against the College of Engineering in a closely contested opening match, followed by a well-deserved victory over the College of Arts. The team maintained its strong momentum in the knockout stages by defeating the College of Applied Sciences–Hit, securing a well-earned place in the final.
In the championship match, the College of Science faced the College of Education for Humanities in a thrilling final encounter. Despite trailing in the first set, the team demonstrated tactical intelligence and strong determination, achieving a historic comeback (“remontada”) by winning the second and third sets to secure the title for the first time in the history of the competition.
On this occasion, the Deanship of the College of Science, represented by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Ismat Ramzi Abdul Ghafour, extended its congratulations on this outstanding achievement and commended the efforts of the team members who proudly represented the college:
