The aim of this study is revealing the genetic composition and phenotype of beta-lactamases enzymes and to know their sensitivity to antibiotics and their ability to produce biofilm to know the role of these enzymes in antibiotic resistance. The results showed that Imipenem and Meropenem are the best antibiotics for treating infection with Proteus mirabilis, as the bacteria showed the lowest rate of resistance to these antibiotics and 84.9% of the isolates were able to produce biofilm.41.5% of the isolates produced ESBL enzymes.and that the genes blaTEM, blaCTX_M1, blaCTX_M2, and blaGIM are abundant in Proteus mirabilis bacteria, unlike the genes blaSHV and blaIMP, which are rare.
