In conjunction with World AIDS Day, the College of Science held a festival on modern strategies for prevention and control.
The College of Science – Department of Biotechnology held a scientific awareness festival entitled: “Modern Strategies for HIV Prevention and Control.” The festival took place on Monday, December 8, 2025, in the courtyards of the College of Science Dean's office, and witnessed wide participation from a select group of professors, researchers, and students from the Department of Biotechnology.
This festival aimed to highlight the latest scientific and medical developments in the field of HIV prevention, review global best practices in combating the disease, reducing its spread, and improving the quality of life of those living with HIV. The festival also sought to raise community awareness about modes of transmission and methods of prevention, and to strengthen the role of academic institutions in supporting public health through scientific education. The events included a diverse program combining scientific depth with educational impact, featuring:
Scholarly lectures presented by professors and researchers, discussing the latest research and innovations in diagnosis, treatment, and prevention; an educational play; and creative activities designed to simplify information and raise awareness in an impactful and direct manner, presented by a group of students from the Biotechnology Department.
The Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Esmat Ramzi Abdul Ghafour, attended the festival and praised the event and the quality of the presentations.
