To enhance practical application and develop field skills, third-year physics students visited the Anbar Specialized Cancer Center to learn about the latest diagnostic and treatment technologies.
As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the practical aspect of education and enhance students’ field skills, the College of Science organized a scientific visit on Sunday, April 19, 2026, for third-year students to the "Anbar Oncology Specialized Center."
The visit was conducted under the academic and field supervision of a group of faculty members, including:
Dr. Israa Kamil Ahmed
Lect. Abdul Salam Mohammed Khalaf
Asst. Lect. Manar Abdul Jabbar Hammadi
The field tour aimed to provide students with direct exposure to the latest advanced medical technologies and equipment used in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. It also offered insight into the operational workflow within the center’s specialized departments, including patient reception, diagnosis, and treatment procedures.
This visit represented a valuable learning opportunity, reinforcing theoretical knowledge acquired in classrooms and linking it to real-world applications, particularly in the fields of medical physics and radiation measurements. Students gained important hands-on experience in understanding how radiation is safely and effectively used in medical applications.
At the conclusion of the visit, the supervising faculty and students expressed their sincere appreciation to the management and staff of the Anbar Oncology Specialized Center for their warm reception, detailed scientific explanations, and constructive cooperation, which contributes to advancing both academic and healthcare development in the province.
