In alignment with the principle of scientific collaboration among state educational institutions, and as part of the activities of the Department of Biology at the College of Science, a delegation of faculty members conducted an educational and awareness-raising visit to "Al-Ilaf Boys’ Secondary School" on Monday, 1 December 2025.

The visit aimed to enrich the scientific knowledge of secondary-level students and connect it to practical applications. The visiting team delivered a series of specialized scientific and awareness lectures covering the following themes:

• Introduction to the fundamentals of microbiology and plant biology
• Training students on the proper use of the light microscope for examining samples
• Highlighting the importance of afforestation and green cover and their vital roles in climate regulation and reducing environmental pollution

The activity also included hands-on contributions to enrich the visit. The team presented educational scientific posters, delivered an instructional insect collection box to introduce students to entomology, and implemented an initiative to plant seedlings in the school garden to promote green spaces.

The administrative and teaching staff at Al-Ilaf Boys’ Secondary School expressed their appreciation for this valuable scientific initiative undertaken by the faculty of the Department of Biology, emphasizing the importance of sustaining such collaboration in developing students’ skills and guiding them toward future scientific specializations.
