Scientific Visit for Fourth-Year Chemistry Students to the Central Library

In line with the principle of academic integration and cooperation among the university’s departments, centers, and colleges, and with the aim of enhancing students’ research skills and familiarizing them with modern sources of knowledge, the Department of Chemistry at the College of Science organized a scientific visit to the Central Library of the University on Wednesday, 29 October 2025. The visit involved fourth-year students and was supervised by Lecturer Dr. Khudair Yas Khudair and Assist. Lecturer Abdullah Thamer Hamid**.

This visit formed part of a series of scientific activities regularly organized by the department to bridge the gap between theoretical instruction delivered in classrooms and practical engagement with diverse scientific research resources.

During the visit, the Central Library staff provided a concise overview of the library’s operations and its role in supporting the academic process. They also introduced modern methods for accessing scientific resources and effectively utilizing them in the preparation of research papers and scientific reports. The students demonstrated strong interest and actively participated by asking questions related to developing their research skills and making effective use of electronic resources.

The supervising faculty members expressed their appreciation to the Central Library administration for the warm reception and excellent organization, emphasizing the importance of such visits in broadening students’ perspectives and encouraging reliance on reputable scientific sources in future research.

At the conclusion of the visit, the students commended the efforts of both the **Department of Chemistry** and the **Central Library** in providing a stimulating academic environment conducive to learning and research, noting that the experience was a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of the library’s essential role as a primary source of scientific knowledge.
