A Faculty Member from the College of Science Participates in a Master’s Thesis Defense at the University of Dhi Qar

Within the framework of academic and scientific collaboration among Iraqi universities and the exchange of scholarly expertise, Lecturer Dr. Mohammed Jasim Mohammed, a faculty member at the College of Science, University of Anbar, participated as a member of the examination committee for the Master’s thesis of the student Shatha Mohammed Hashim in the Department of Mathematics, College of Education for Pure Sciences, University of Dhi Qar.
The thesis is entitled:

“Numerical Techniques for Solving Some Partial Differential Equations.”

The defense was held on the morning of Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in the Discussion Hall (Martyr Hassan Nasrallah Hall) at the college.

The thesis addressed the study of integral equations from both theoretical and applied perspectives, focusing on their classifications and transformations into equivalent differential formulations. The study also applied the Lie symmetry method to obtain accurate analytical solutions and covered Fredholm and Volterra equations, as well as mixed and integro-differential equations.

The examination committee consisted of the following members:

Prof. Dr. Walid Khalid Jabr (University of Dhi Qar) – Chair

Assist. Prof. Dr. Wissam Kamel Ghafil (University of Dhi Qar) – Member

Lec. Dr. Mohammed Jasim Mohammed (University of Anbar) – Member

Prof. Dr. Mayada Ghasab Mohammed (University of Dhi Qar) – Member and Supervisor

Following an in-depth scientific discussion and the student’s defense of her thesis, the committee approved the leading thesis.

Congratulations to the student and her supervisor, and best wishes to our faculty member for his valuable contribution to advancing academic scholarship.
