In a distinguished scientific and intellectual atmosphere, the Department of Biology at the College of Science continued the activities of its Cultural Week for the third consecutive day. The events of Tuesday, April 21, 2026, were dedicated to **Botany**, attracting wide participation from students and faculty members.

The day’s activities transformed the college’s courtyards and gardens into a vibrant green scientific space. A comprehensive exhibition was organized, showcasing a diverse collection of live plants, accompanied by detailed explanations on their care and maintenance. The exhibition also included herbarium samples (dried plants), scientific posters, and illustrative models highlighting biodiversity, plant diversity, and environmental aesthetics.

As part of the scientific program, a valuable lecture entitled “Modern Agriculture and Contemporary Techniques” was delivered by:

Asst. Prof. Dr. Raja Fadhil Hamdi
Asst. Prof. Dr. Wijdan Ahmed Ali
Dr. Ahmed Khamis Abdullah

The lecture, attended by the Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Ismat Ramzi Abdul Ghafour, focused on the latest methods in modern agriculture, their role in achieving environmental sustainability, and their importance in advancing plant production in line with rapid scientific developments.

Adding a unique interactive dimension to the event, the festival hosted a delegation of students and faculty from Al-Maarif University (Departments of Biology and Forensic Science), coinciding with their scientific visit to the college. The delegation toured the botanical exhibition and attended the lectures, contributing to an atmosphere of academic exchange and knowledge sharing between the two institutions.
