This study aimed to highlight the multifactorial effects of Bifidobacteria isolated from children and their metabolites on the immune system and pathogenic bacteria, in addition to investigating the substances associated with these activities. The results showed that Bifidobacteria supernatant contributed to the inhibition of several pathogenic isolates and also inhibited some virulence factors at both the phenotype and genotype levels. Furthermore, the results indicated that the effects of these bacteria and their active compounds also influence the regulation of the immune response in children, causing a significant decrease in pro-inflammatory interleukins and a more balanced immune response.
