n Preparation for the Final Competitions: "College of Science Conducts Preliminary Tests for Participants in the 15th Qur’anic Competition"

In its ongoing efforts to engage its students, the specialized subcommittee at the College of Science conducted the preliminary tests for candidates participating in the "15th Qur’anic Competition" in an atmosphere marked by serenity, reverence, and fair competition.

The tests were honored by the presence of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Obeid, dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, along with members of the central committee. He praised the College of Science for its commitment to supporting Qur’anic activities and strengthening students’ connection with the Holy Qur’an. He also commended the strong performance levels demonstrated by participants and emphasized the importance of collaboration between colleges in promoting spiritual and ethical values within the university environment.

The examination committee was chaired by Dr. Rifaat Saad, with membership including Prof. Dr. Mustafa Riyadh Mohammed and Engineer Hajar Ahmed Shihab. The committee evaluated participants based on precise criteria, including rules of Tajweed, vocal quality, and accuracy of memorization.

The selection process focused on two main categories:

* Recitation (Tilawah): to identify the best voices capable of representing the College at central-level competitions
* Memorization (Five Parts): to select students with strong and accurate memorization of the Holy Qur’an

The committee praised the participants’ performance, noting that the competition primarily aims to strengthen students’ connection with the Qur’an while developing their linguistic and spiritual abilities. This stage serves as a qualification round to nominate top performers for the final competitions at the university level, with best wishes for continued success and excellence in the service of the Holy Qur’an.
