College of Science Promotes Environmental Awareness within Its Sustainable Development Strategy through a Specialized Workshop on “Biological Balance."

As part of its firm commitment to the principles of sustainable development and its ongoing efforts to enhance environmental awareness as an integral component of its academic and societal mission, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Science, in collaboration with the Department of Biotechnology, organized a specialized scientific workshop entitled “Biological Balance: The Impact of Waste and Water Wastage on Ecosystems” on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

The workshop was launched in line with the College’s vision of utilizing scientific research to address contemporary environmental challenges. Its themes focused on analyzing the risks arising from poor water resource management and pollution caused by waste, while also presenting modern strategies and solutions aimed at protecting biodiversity and ensuring ecosystem stability for future generations.

The workshop was attended by a distinguished group of faculty members and researchers and featured active contributions from the speakers:

Through multiple scientific themes, the speakers addressed the concept of biological balance and the environmental consequences of water wastage. The workshop concluded with recommendations emphasizing the importance of institutional cooperation in promoting a culture of sustainability, stressing that environmental preservation is a collective responsibility that begins with academic awareness and must be translated into tangible practices, in line with the workshop’s vision of creating a sustainable environment that safeguards life and the future of coming generations.
