A scientific lecture entitled “Natural Alternatives for Inhibiting Microbial Biofilms” coinciding with the World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week.

 Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Ismat Ramzi Abdel Ghafour, the College witnessed today, Tuesday, November 19, 2024, the launch of the distinguished student scientific festival, which was organized by the Department of Biotechnology in cooperation with the Women's Affairs Unit, coinciding with the World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week. The festival activities were opened with an interesting scientific lecture given by Prof. Dr. Safaa Abdul Latif Al-Muaini, which addressed the importance of searching for natural alternatives to combat microbial biofilms, and the danger of microbial resistance to antibiotics to public health. Dr. Safaa reviewed the latest research and studies in this field. The festival also witnessed the opening of an exhibition of research posters presented by students of the Department of Biotechnology, which displayed a variety of research and studies that addressed the topic of the festival. The festival also included many interactive activities, such as distributing awareness brochures and displaying educational scientific models, which contributed to enhancing students' awareness of the importance of this topic.
