In Collaboration with the University Presidency "the Quality Assurance Unit at the College of Science Organizes a Workshop to Enhance Laboratory Performance."
As part of its continuous efforts to implement the highest standards of academic quality and laboratory accreditation, the Quality Assurance and University Performance Unit at the College of Science, in collaboration with the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance and the Center for Continuing Education at the University Presidency, organized a specialized scientific workshop entitled: “Internal Auditing of Laboratories.”
The workshop was held on Wednesday morning, April 29, 2026, at Jabir Ibn Hayyan Hall and was primarily targeted at faculty members, technical staff, and laboratory personnel within the College, with the aim of developing their administrative and technical competencies.
The workshop was delivered by a distinguished group of academics and specialists, including:
• Asst. Prof. Dr. Thamer Yousif Matar
• Asst. Lect.Muhannad Jassim Hassan
• Asst. Lect. Hanan Khamees Khalaf
The workshop addressed key scientific and administrative themes, focusing on effective implementation of internal auditing procedures and aligning laboratory practices with recognized standards, particularly "Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)". It also covered proper methods for laboratory documentation, identification of non-conformities, and the development of appropriate corrective actions in accordance with quality management requirements.
This workshop aligns with the strategic plan of the College of Science and the University of Anbar to enhance laboratory performance, ensure a safe and efficient working environment, and comply with national and international quality standards, thereby contributing to the improvement of the quality and reliability of academic and research outputs for students and researchers.
