Scientific symposium entitled "Early check - up to detect cancer in women"

 In continuation of the awareness campaigns held periodically by the college, the Women's Affairs Unit at the college, in cooperation with the Cancer Center, organized an important scientific symposium entitled "Early Periodic Examination to Detect Cancer in Women". This was on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, in Ibn Sina Hall at the college, which was attended by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Ismat Ramzi Abdel Ghafour. The symposium was attended by Dr. Ayman Adnan Dilan from the Cancer Center, Assistant Professor Dr. Yasra Mahmoud Hammadi from the Department of Chemistry and Head of the Women's Affairs Unit. The symposium addressed the importance of early periodic examination to detect cancer in women, as the most common types of cancer among women were highlighted, and the importance of early detection in increasing the chances of recovery. Self-examination methods and the importance of periodic follow-up with specialist doctors were also explained. The symposium focused on the role of women in maintaining their health, the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle, paying attention to proper nutrition, and exercising regularly, as factors that help prevent cancer.

Dr. Yasra said, “Early detection of cancer in women plays a crucial role in saving their lives, so we call on all women to take care of their health and conduct regular check-ups.”
