To Enhance Academic Performance: "College of Science Holds a Specialized Workshop on Internal Ranking Criteria and Requirements"

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance academic and administrative performance and to ensure the achievement of the highest standards of quality and institutional accreditation, the Internal Ranking Unit at the College of Science organized a specialized workshop to clarify the criteria and requirements of the internal ranking system for colleges at the University of Anbar.

The workshop was delivered by Dr. Ahmed Shihab Lafi from the Scientific Follow-up Unit at the University Presidency. It targeted specialized committees and stakeholders within the College, aiming to highlight the adopted ranking criteria and indicators and to discuss mechanisms for their effective implementation, thereby ensuring integrated efforts toward achieving advanced positions that reflect the distinguished academic standing of the College of Science.

The workshop featured extensive discussions and a detailed presentation of the five core domains underpinning the ranking system, including:

* **Educational Environment:** Strategies to enhance infrastructure, classrooms, and laboratories to provide an optimal learning environment.
* **Scientific Research:** Emphasis on the quality and impact of faculty publications in international indexed journals and support for applied research projects.
* **Resource Optimization:** Mechanisms for maximizing and efficiently utilizing available resources to support academic and institutional development.
* **Digital Transformation and Data Management:** The importance of updating data, disseminating scientific activities, and facilitating access to digital resources for students and researchers.
* **Sustainability:** The role of the College in implementing environmental sustainability standards, clean energy practices, and expanding green spaces within the campus.

At the conclusion of the workshop, ideas and recommendations were exchanged between the presenter and attendees, with an emphasis on the importance of coordinated efforts and precise documentation of all activities and data. This approach is essential to achieving the College’s strategic objectives and improving its performance indicators within the broader framework of the University of Anbar’s local and international ranking strategies.
