Enhancing academic cooperation and exchange of expertise: The Dean of the College of Science and the Scientific Assistant participate in the discussion of a doctoral thesis at the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Anbar.
As part of strengthening scientific cooperation between the faculties of Anbar University, Professor Dr. Ismat Ramzi Abdul Ghafour, Dean of the College of Science, participated as a member and supervisor in the discussion of the doctoral dissertation submitted by researcher Othman Abdul Fahd Khalaf at the College of Education for Pure Sciences in Anbar. The discussion took place on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. The dissertation was titled "Preparation and Photo-responsive Analysis of ZnO/CdTe/Ge/Si Nanostructures for Broad Band Photodetectors." The dissertation addressed the fabrication of a multilayer photodetector with a different energy gap. The ZnO/CdTe/Ge/Si heterostructure is a broad spectrum response detector that covers the ultraviolet, visible, and near-infrared regions. Professor Dr. Ahmed Salman's participation as a member of the discussion committee also exemplified constructive cooperation between the faculties, providing valuable feedback that helped evaluate the dissertation according to standards of quality and academic excellence. This participation also emphasized the importance of integration between scientific and educational disciplines in developing scientific research.
