ending of the science festival "Scientific Experimentation: Our Path to Understanding and Innovation"

In a scientific atmosphere, the Department of Biotechnology concluded the activities of the Science Festival for first-year students. The festival was held under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science, who was represented by his Assistant for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mishal. The event was attended by the heads of the Chemistry and Biology departments, under the direct guidance of the Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Jabbar Suleiman, and under the supervision of a group of department professors.

The festival activities included several highlights, most notably:
• Advanced experiments in extracting natural perfumes and plant pharmaceutical compounds, extracting starch and casein, and molecular detection of bacterial resistance genes using PCR technology.
• Pioneering projects in the production of bioplastics and environmentally friendly models from biodegradable plant waste.
• Laboratory activities in detecting epithelial cells and mitochondria in plants, and monitoring the yeast budding process.
• Distinctive awareness presentations addressed scientific topics such as modified proteins, prion diseases, medical applications of starch, waste recycling, and cellular autophagy. • Testing the efficacy of a number of sterilizers and disinfectants from international sources according to precise scientific principles.
