The aim of this study is estimating the impact of Co-infection between enteric viruses and the Entamoeba parasite among children infected with amoebiasis. It also aims to identify and differentiate between the three species of Entamoeba (E.histolytica, E.dispar, and E.moshkovskii) using both conventional and multiplex PCR methods. The results indicated that E.histolytica was the most prevalent species among the other Entamoeba species, with no presence of E.dispar or E.moshkovskii. Females exhibited a higher infection rate with Entamoeba spp. and enteric viruses compared to males, except for astroviruses, which had a higher infection rate in males than in females. The age group of 1 month to 5 years showed the highest infection rates, followed by the 6 to 10 years age group, and lastly the 11 to less than 15 years age group, which had the lowest infection rates. It was also found that there was no effect of enteric viruses on cases infected with E.histolytica.
