The aim of this study is Reveal the role of random use of antibiotics in changing the patterns of some virulence factors quantitatively and qualitatively in the bacteria that cause infections.
Clinical isolates of Klebsiella pneumoniae in this study showed high rates of resistance to antibiotics, particularly ampicillin, ceftriaxone, and trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, indicating the continued spread of multiple resistance patterns. It was also found that sub-MIC concentrations of azithromycin exhibited a biofilm-promoting effect. In contrast, ciprofloxacin and imipenem showed an inhibitory effect, indicating that the isolates' responses to antibiotics vary in relation to virulence factors.
