The seminar primarily targeted first-year students, reflecting the college deanship's belief in the importance of establishing an early culture of occupational and laboratory safety at the beginning of students’ academic journey.
The lectures addressed several essential topics, including standardized laboratory regulations and proper methods for the segregation and safe disposal of chemical waste and hazardous materials, as well as theoretical training on appropriate responses to laboratory emergencies. The seminar also highlighted critical preventive guidelines aimed at minimizing chemical pollution and preserving the sustainability of the university environment.
This seminar forms part of a broader series of academic and awareness programs implemented by the College of Science to reinforce comprehensive quality standards and occupational safety practices, ensure compliance of laboratory work with approved regulations, and safeguard students, staff, the environment, and the wider community.
