The aim of this study is analyzing the microfacies within the Euphrates and Fatha formations, classify the depositional environments, and identify sequence stratigraphy within the Lower to Middle Miocene. The findings revealed nine distinct types of microfacies, along with three lithofacies that characterized the Fatha Formation. Additionally, five different depositional environments were identified, as well as six fourth-order depositional cycles in the Euphrates Formation and two fourth-order cycles in the Fatha Formation. These results reflect the influence of sea-level changes on the formations and ancient environmental conditions.
