The study aims to determine the seismicity onset depth, cutoff depth and seismogenic thickness (ST) in Iraq using earthquake focal depth data. A clear regional variation reflects differences in geological and tectonic settings. An inverse correlation was found between earthquake density and depth, indicating that thicker seismogenic crust resists minor earthquakes better.
