Handicrafts Bazaar Opens the Activities of the Campaign Against Violence Toward Women

In conjunction with the international "16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence", and at the opening of the “Student Festival for Combating Violence Against Women” organized by the Women’s Affairs Unit in the college, a handicrafts and artisan bazaar was held on Monday, 8 December 2025, in the college courtyard. The event drew notable participation and public interest. The bazaar aims to highlight the creative work of female students, reinforce the role of women and their capacity for productivity and meaningful societal contribution, and serve as an important component of awareness and advocacy efforts against gender-based violence.

The bazaar was visited by the Dean, Professor Dr. Ismat Ramzi Abdul-Ghafoor, who commended the quality of the exhibited work and the effort invested in organizing this purposeful activity. He praised the pioneering role of the Women’s Affairs Unit in launching initiatives that enrich student life and address significant social and humanitarian issues.

He emphasized that such activities not only foster creativity but also convey a clear collective message rejecting violence and supporting the active role of women in all fields.

It is noteworthy that the activities of the “Student Festival Week for Combating Violence Against Women” will continue until the end of Thursday, featuring a variety of events, awareness seminars, and initiatives aimed at raising societal awareness on the importance of combating all forms of violence against women.
