As part of the fieldwork program of the Department of Applied Geology – College of Science, "Applied Geology Students on a Scientific Trip to Al-Khalidiya City"

In accordance with the fieldwork requirements of the Department of Applied Geology – College of Science, the department organized a field trip for third-year students to Al-Khalidiya District, specifically the Sheikh Masoud area. The students were accompanied by faculty members Dr. Abdul Khaliq Abdul Malik and Assistant Professor Abdul Salam Ubaid, along with geological assistant Mohammed Ahmed Abdul Salam. The trip aimed to enhance the students' practical skills by providing direct observation of the geological structures and natural phenomena in the area, and to connect theoretical knowledge with practical field applications. The students demonstrated significant engagement with the field explanations provided by the instructors, which contributed to enriching their scientific experience and broadening their understanding of the nature of geological work in the field.

This activity comes as part of the department’s plan to prepare competent scientific personnel capable of meeting the challenges of the labor market. It includes combining theoretical study with field experiments through examining and studying different types of rocks and earth layers, and training on the use of field geological tools in collecting samples and data, in addition to identifying prominent geological features and structures in the region.
