Under the Slogan “Chemists: Continuous Contribution”: The Department of Chemistry Launches Its Annual Festival at the College of Science

In the spirit of joint scientific cooperation between the Department of Chemistry at the College of Science, the College of Pharmacy at Al-Maarif University, and the American Chemical Society, and under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science at the University of Anbar, "Prof. Dr. Ismat Ramzi Abdul-Ghafoor", with the attendance of "Assist. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Khalaf", Dean of the College of Science at Al-Maarif University, the Department of Chemistry held its Annual Chemistry Festival.

The festival commenced on Sunday, 14 December 2025, at the College of Science under the slogan “Chemists: Continuous Contribution.” The event aimed to enhance awareness of the importance of chemistry in daily life and scientific research. It featured a range of diverse and innovative activities that combined scientific engagement with educational value, attracting wide participation from academics and students.

Festival activities included live scientific demonstrations and experiments, during which faculty members and students presented engaging chemical experiments that highlighted the practical applications of chemical concepts. The program also featured scientific lectures and workshops addressing recent developments and innovations across various fields of chemistry, as well as specialized documentary screenings showcasing the role of chemistry in the pharmaceutical, environmental, and technological industries.

At the conclusion of the festival, the Dean of the College of Science commended the efforts of the Department of Chemistry and the fruitful collaboration with Al-Maarif University and the American Chemical Society, affirming that such integration reflects a shared commitment to advancing scientific research. He also praised the high level of organization and the strong academic and student engagement demonstrated throughout the festival.
