The Deanship of the College of Science, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit, organized a scientific seminar for evening-study students entitled “Respiratory Infections and Pulmonary Fibrosis: Causes, Treatment, and Prevention.” The seminar was held on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, in the Jaber Ibn Hayyan Hall at the college.
The seminar focused on respiratory infections and pulmonary fibrosis. The lectures were delivered by "Dr. Hajar Shehab Hamad, along with "Haider Ahmed Jalil" and "Ali Mohammed Abdulrahman", third-year students from the Department of Biology.
The seminar addressed two main themes: the first examined the causes of respiratory infections and methods of prevention, while the second discussed pulmonary fibrosis and its associated risks.
The event was attended by the Dean of the College, the assistant deans, and a large number of evening-study students.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the Dean emphasized the importance of maintaining continuity in such activities to promote environmental and health awareness among students and the wider community, noting that the primary objective is to educate students about environmental risks and effective preventive measures.
