College of Science Hosts Joint Seminar on “The Intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Biotechnology”
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ismat Ramzi Abdul-Ghafoor, Dean of the College of Science, the College of Science, in collaboration with the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, organized a significant joint scientific seminar entitled: “Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Biotechnology”.
The seminar was held on Tuesday, 2/12/2025, in Ibn Sina Hall at the College of Science. It witnessed notable attendance from faculty members, researchers, and postgraduate students from both colleges and related disciplines. The seminar aimed to highlight the growing importance of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning techniques into biotechnology, demonstrating how these computational tools can accelerate discoveries in areas such as genome analysis, drug design, and medical diagnostics.
At the conclusion of the seminar, "Prof. Dr. Ismat Ramzi Abdul-Ghafoor", Dean of the College of Science, expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Departments of Biotechnology and Artificial Intelligence in organizing this high-quality event, which fosters "knowledge exchange across disciplines". He also praised the "constructive collaboration with the College of Computer Science and Information Technology", emphasizing that such integration is "key to future scientific innovation".
