Awareness Seminar on “University Norms and Student Responsibility”
Emphasizing the university’s role in shaping students’ character and guiding their academic and behavioral development, the Human Rights Unit at the College of Science organized an educational awareness seminar on Sunday, 22/2/2026, entitled: “University Norms between Academic Values and Student Responsibility.” The seminar was held at Jabir ibn Hayyan Hall, with active participation from faculty members and students.
The lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Hamid Hussein Ali, who highlighted the key ethical principles governing academic work. The session was moderated by Dr. Anhar Abdul Salam and Assistant Lecturer Hanan Abdul Qader, who professionally managed the proceedings and facilitated the discussions.
The seminar aimed to reinforce students’ awareness of the importance of adhering to established university norms and traditions, while clarifying the careful balance between enjoying academic rights and fulfilling responsibilities and obligations. It also sought to promote a culture of mutual respect within the university campus, discourage negative behaviors, and introduce students to disciplinary regulations and guidelines, thereby contributing to the preparation of a conscious and responsible generation that reflects the positive image of the academic institution.
