Start tological and Immunohistochemical Sample Preparation” at the College of Science
Under the patronage of the Deanship of the College of Science, and as part of its commitment to developing research and academic skills, the Women’s Affairs Unit, in cooperation and coordination with the Department of Biology, inaugurated on Sunday, 22 February 2026, the scientific training course entitled: *“Fundamentals and Techniques of Conventional, Immunohistochemical, and Frozen Tissue Sample Preparation.”*
The course will run for a full week and is conducted under the supervision and participation of a distinguished group of faculty members and specialists in the field. The lectures are delivered by:
* Assist. Prof.Dr. Ahmed Sami Farhan
* Dr. Hind Younis Khalaf
* Dr. Hala Mahdi Hamad
* Dr. Faham Jassim Mohammed
This advanced and specialized course targets a broad audience, including postgraduate students, faculty members, and researchers from the College of Science, as well as researchers and specialists from research centers and other colleges of the university.
The course aims to equip participants with precise practical skills and provide training in the latest techniques used in preparing various types of tissue samples (conventional, immunohistochemical, and frozen). It also focuses on the correct scientific principles for handling biological samples, thereby directly contributing to enhancing the quality of rigorous scientific research and advancing both the applied and diagnostic aspects.
This scientific initiative forms part of a series of ongoing activities and training programs organized by the Women’s Affairs Unit and the scientific departments of the College, with the aim of strengthening academic collaboration and advancing the research and technical capabilities of university staff and students.
