Scientific Seminar Entitled “Self-Discovery and Setting Future Goals”

Under the patronage and in the presence of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Ismat Ramzi Abdul Ghafour, and within the framework of the scientific and developmental activities organized by the University Psychological Counseling Unit, a scientific seminar entitled **“Self-Discovery and Setting Future Goals”** was held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Jabir Ibn Hayyan Hall in the College.

The seminar was presented by a distinguished group of academics and specialists, including Assistant Professor Dr. Ammar Awad Farhan (from the College of Education for Humanities), Assistant Professor Dr. Bahar Miqdad Abdullah, and Assistant Lecturer Ali Kadhim Yaqoub.

The seminar aimed to highlight the importance of self-awareness and understanding students’ latent abilities, as well as how to employ their strengths to overcome academic and life challenges. The speakers also focused on providing attendees with practical and scientific mechanisms to successfully design their future pathways and formulate realistic and smart goals that align with their ambitions and academic specializations. This contributes to preparing a conscious and self-confident generation capable of actively and positively engaging in society and the labor market.

The seminar witnessed notable attendance and positive engagement from both students and faculty members, accompanied by valuable interventions that enriched the discussion. This event comes as part of a series of developmental programs continuously supported by the College Deanship to enhance the psychological and skill development of students, based on the belief that academic excellence is complemented by building a confident, ambitious, and leadership-oriented personality.
