As part of efforts to strengthen academic collaboration and exchange scientific expertise between universities, the College of Science welcomed a scientific delegation from Al-Maarif University on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. The delegation included students from the departments of Biology and forensic science, accompanied by their Head of department and a number of faculty members.
The visiting delegation was received by the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Ismat Ramzi Abdul Ghafour, who welcomed the students and their instructors. In his remarks, he emphasized the College’s commitment to fostering academic cooperation and providing access to its laboratory facilities in support of students’ educational development across institutions.
The visit included an extensive field tour of several advanced laboratories within the college, where students explored the infrastructure and technical equipment. They received detailed explanations from technical staff and laboratory supervisors on the operation of advanced instruments used in biological analyses and forensic investigations, as well as their applications in research and practical experiments. The visit also provided an opportunity for constructive scientific discussions between Al-Maarif University students and faculty and their counterparts at the College of Science.
At the conclusion of the visit, the head of the delegation and accompanying faculty expressed their sincere appreciation to the college deanship, represented by Professor Dr. Ismat Ramzi Abdul Ghafour, for the warm reception and hospitality. They praised the high scientific and technical standards of the College’s laboratories and highlighted the importance of such visits in enhancing students’ practical skills and enriching their academic knowledge.
