Towards a Life without Drug: Awareness Workshop on the Dangers of Drugs

 The Women's Affairs Unit and the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Science, in cooperation with the Chemistry Department and the Rehabilitation Center for Addicts and Drug Users in Anbar, organized an awareness workshop entitled "Awareness of the Dangers of Drugs, Steps Towards a Better Future" on Monday, October 28, 2024, in Jabir bin Hayyan Hall.


The workshop aimed to raise awareness among students, faculty and administrative staff about the dangers of drugs and their negative effects on the individual and society, and to provide them with the necessary knowledge to prevent and combat them.

The workshop included a set of lectures and discussions that addressed many important topics, including:
• The dangers of drugs on mental and physical health
• The legal foundations for combating drugs
• The community role in preventing drugs:
The workshop witnessed a remarkable presence by students, faculty and administrative staff at the College of Science.

The Deanship of the College of Science stressed the importance of such awareness workshops in combating the phenomenon of drugs.
The Women's Affairs Unit and the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit organized a photo exhibition in the college halls that simulates this dangerous scourge and ways to prevent and avoid it.
