Under the Theme “Science Oasis”: College of Science Organizes a Large-Scale Tree-Planting Campaign to Promote Environmental Sustainability

The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Science, in collaboration with the Department of Biotechnology, organized a large-scale tree-planting campaign under the theme **“Science Oasis: Towards Green, Environmentally Friendly Buildings”** on Thursday, April 30, 2026.

This initiative aims to enhance environmental awareness within the university campus, contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions, and create a sustainable academic environment aligned with modern aesthetics and health standards. It reflects the College’s commitment to supporting sustainable development initiatives and addressing climate change challenges.

The campaign witnessed active participation from faculty members and students and included the planting of a diverse range of large trees, shrubs, and flowers, in addition to the distribution of shade plants across the College’s corridors and entrances. This step seeks to transform available spaces into integrated green areas, adding a vibrant character to academic buildings and establishing them as a true “oasis” that harmonizes knowledge with environmental stewardship.
