From Lab to Reality: Geology Students Visit the "Desert Environment Museum"

 Based on the directives of the Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Ismat Ramzi Abdul Ghafour, and within the scientific activities and enhancing scientific cooperation between the College of Science and research centers at the University of Anbar, the Department of Applied Geology at the College of Science, represented by the Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Ali Mishaal Abdul and faculty members, made a scientific visit to the Desert Environment Museum at the Desert Studies Center, on Tuesday 11/27/2024. The visit included a detailed tour of the museum, where second-stage students listened to an explanation by the center's specialists about the types of soil spread in Anbar Governorate, and their geographical distribution in desert and river environments. They also learned about the research projects implemented by the center in the field of desert study and development. This visit aims to enhance the practical aspect of the study and link the theoretical aspect that students receive in lectures to practical reality by viewing soil models and studying their distribution, in addition to learning about environmental diversity and encouraging students to conduct research and studies in the field of earth and environmental sciences and enhancing cooperation between the Department of Applied Geology and the Desert Studies Center.
