Due to the increase in bacterial infections among women, this study aimed to detect these types of bacteria that cause infection and are resistant to antibiotics and form biofilms, as well as to detect the genes responsible for this resistance and find a therapeutic alternative for antibiotic-resistant bacteria using clove extract. (100) clinical samples were collected from different disease cases, including pregnant and non-pregnant women, from private clinics in the city of Ramadi for the period (October 8-23, 2023). Bacterial isolates were diagnosed using traditional methods by cultivating them on culture media for isolation and diagnosis. The results showed the presence of 5002 colonies in pregnant women and 15218 colonies in non-pregnant women on the culture media, as well as the presence of many bacterial species, including
)K.pneumoniae, K.oxytoca, Rhizobuim radiobacter, E.coli, Sphigomonas paucimobilis, Enterobacter aerogenes, Acinatobacter lwoffii, Serratia marcescens, Raoultella ornithinolytica, Pseudomonas fluorescens, Staphylococcus haemolyticus, Staphylococcus lentus, and Gemella haemolysans(
The majority of isolates showed resistance to antibiotics and formed biofilms. When using clove extract, it showed effectiveness against bacterial isolates, and thus it can be used as a therapeutic alternative against bacteria that cause infection.
