A delegation from the Atomic Energy Authority visits the Physics Department at the College of Science to ensure the safety and security of radioactive sources.

 On Sunday, May 11, 2025, the College of Science received a team from the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission to inspect and ensure the safety and security of the radioactive sources located in the College's Physics Department.

The visiting delegation was accompanied by the Assistant President of Anbar University for Scientific Affairs, Professor Wissam Hashim Ahmed, as well as a number of employees from the Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Safety and Security Division at the University Presidency.
The delegation was received by the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Ismat Ramzi Abdul Ghafour, the Head of the Physics Department, Professor Jamal Malallah Razij, and a number of relevant professors in the department.
The team conducted a detailed tour of the Physics Department laboratories, which contain radioactive sources used for educational and research purposes. Committee members examined and evaluated these sources using specialized radiation detection devices, ensuring compliance with approved nuclear and radiation safety and security standards. The procedures for the safe storage, transportation, and handling of these materials were also audited, ensuring the college's compliance with the instructions and regulations issued by the Atomic Energy Authority.
The Dean of the College emphasized the College of Science's commitment to adhering to the highest standards of safety and security in handling radioactive materials and its full cooperation with the Atomic Energy Authority to ensure the safety of the environment and the university community.
