The College of Science Council holds its eighth regular session.

 The College of Science Council held its eighth regular session on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, headed by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ismat Ramzi Abdul Ghafour, and attended by all members of the Council. The session began with a discussion of the directives of the President of Anbar University, Professor Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Nida, which aim to advance the educational, research and administrative process in the college in line with the university’s vision and future aspirations. The Dean emphasized the importance of implementing these directives accurately and efficiently to ensure the achievement of the desired goals. The agenda was reviewed and discussed, including a number of topics, including extending the study of graduate students. Requests to extend the study period for a number of master's and doctoral students were discussed, while emphasizing adherence to the ministerial regulations and instructions in this regard, and providing the necessary support for students to complete their graduation requirements. Ways to activate the visiting professor program were also discussed, and attracting competencies to deliver specialized lectures and workshops. In addition, the restructuring of the Anbar University Journal of Pure Sciences was discussed in light of the recent achievement of the journal's inclusion in the global Scopus database. The Council discussed a proposal to restructure the journal to ensure the sustainability of this achievement and enhance its research and editorial position globally, while emphasizing the University Presidency's support for this approach. The Council also discussed several studies that serve the community, and emphasized the importance of directing scientific research and studies towards addressing urgent issues that serve the local and regional community, and linking the outcomes of scientific research to real development needs.
