Applied Geology Students Visit the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Laboratories

As part of its field-based scientific activity program, the Department of Applied Geology at the College of Science organized a field visit for fourth-year students to the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) laboratories in the Department of Geography, College of Arts.

The visit aimed to deepen students’ understanding of modern GIS applications in geology and spatial analysis, and to provide them with the opportunity to explore the technical and software capabilities available in the laboratories—an experience that strengthens their practical skills in geological data analysis.

The visit was conducted under the supervision and accompaniment of a group of faculty members from the Department of Applied Geology, reflecting the department’s commitment to enhancing students’ knowledge in spatial analysis and its geological applications, as well as fostering scientific collaboration among the university’s colleges and academic departments.
