Bridges of Knowledge Extend from Malaysia to Anbar: College of Science Hosts a High-Level Delegation from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia

In a strategic step toward enhancing academic internationalization and strengthening the university’s presence on the global stage, the Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Ismat Ramzi Abdul-Ghafoor, accompanied by the assistant deans and heads of academic departments, welcomed a high-level academic delegation from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia. The official visit, scheduled to last for one full week, aims to open new horizons for academic and research collaboration and to reinforce joint scientific cooperation.

The visiting delegation was headed by Prof. Dr. Mohd Rozi, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at UiTM, and included a distinguished group of senior academics and experts, namely:

Associate Prof. Dr. Wan Izhan Nawawi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Industrial Linkages
Associate Prof. Dr. Ali Hadi Jawad, international expert in chemistry and environmental sciences
Associate Prof. Dr. Ibiwani Elisa Binti Hussin

The visit comes in response to an official invitation from the Deanship of the College of Science and features an intensive program structured around **three main pillars**:

1. Research Collaboration: launching large-scale joint research projects addressing contemporary scientific and environmental challenges.
2. Knowledge Transfer: delivering a series of specialized scientific lectures for college students to expose them to the latest global developments in applied sciences.
3. Infrastructure and Facilities Engagement: touring the college’s facilities and advanced laboratories to review scientific infrastructure and explore opportunities for further development.

Beyond the central campus, the delegation’s agenda also includes extended academic and field visits to the College of Applied Sciences in Hit and the College of Basic Education in Haditha, reflecting both parties’ commitment to broadening the scope of academic benefit across multiple university units.

In his remarks, the Dean emphasized that this visit is not merely a protocol engagement, but rather the beginning of a new phase of global partnership that places the university’s students and researchers firmly on the international research map. He added that hosting this delegation underscores the university’s ambitious vision to build sustainable bridges of cooperation with leading global institutions, contributing to improved international rankings and the advancement of educational outcomes.
